We eat here twice a month. There is no better German food anywhere around here. Try the cucumber salad. It’s the best.
What's a restaurant without food? A really boring version of speed dating without the date. This restaurants food as absolutely amazing. I personally always get the schnitzel sandwich with the occasional cheese cake; I have a small wallet. The food itself feels like a grandmothers hug and makes me happy every time I eat it. I'd beg to say it's better than my mothers Hispanic cuisine if it wasn't for the fear of my mother one day finding this review. All of this at an affordable price too!!!
The atmosphere of this little restaurant is humble and welcoming with several items hanging from the wall that remind me of both german ancestry and family. My favorite wall decoration is a bull's skull resting peacefully in front of the door as you walk in. The seats are admittedly hard and tacky, but they help add to the humility of the place and make you feel more at home. The women in charge of service and cooking are also german borne and speak with either their german native tongue or heavily accented English, which, along with their kind motherly like voices, make me feel at home as a highschool student, which brings me to my second point.
I personally give this a 5/5 stars because of the atmosphere, the service, and of course, the food.
One of my favorite places to eat lunch, its as close to being in Germany as you can get. (& yes I've been to Germany) I always order the snitchel sandwich with the cucumber salad & its never disappointed me. Also the owner is super sweet & because I go so often she knows exactly what I order & exactly how I like it. & that means a lot to me, that she is personal & humble with all of her repeat customers.
The service is wonderful with kind waitresses which make you feel like you're in Germany for a little while. As previously stated, they are German borne and speak with a heavy accent which gives the customers a worldly feel. They also have their share of extreme enthusiasm for new customers which never gets old.
Altogether, I score a 5/5 stars with 4/5 stars for atmosphere, 5/5 stars for service, and 5/5 stars for the food. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to my friends if many of them didn't live so far away.
Never had German cuisine before but we know what good food is supposed to taste like and Opa's delivered on our expectations and beyond. This place is awesome! The food was full of flavor and just the right mix of spices. The German coffee was delicious and the dessert, mandarin creme torte, couldn't have been better. Highly recommended! We are looking forward to going back again!
This is by far the best German restaurant in the area. The women who run this are real Germans making authentic food. The menu is small but that's because they focus on a well cooked slim menu of items. They don't have French fries anymore but the fried potatoes fills the the menu out nicely.
