So I walk into Petco lookin to buy some fish. More than my amazement of the selection they held, I was in shock at the unprofessionalism the worker Katja showed in the marine department. The first time I went, she smugly denied me service . The second time I went, she childishly hid in the corner of the store while me and my friend waited for nearly 2 hours. Not to mention, she rudely one word answered my buddy and I, when we finally were serviced by another employee. All around two horrible experiences at this petco.

Wonderful dog training. Loved working with the senior trainer. Amazing selection. Good prices.

PLease do NOT trust your furbaby to this companies groomers. Today I witnessed a small dog being roughed up and traumatized by the groomer. When the manager was alerted to the situation he spoke with the groomer and then laughed it off while blaming the dog. He claimed it was the dogs fault and that the dog has a history. I have never witnessed such poor management. That poor dog did nothing to deserve that type of treatment. How the manager "David" has a job is beyond me.

Petco is a good place to buy pet supplies but I would personally recommend PetSmart because it seems slightly bigger and sometimes Petco runs out of stock of their items. For buying pets, I would also recommend PetSmart because the pets at Petco seem so sad and it seems like PetSmart takes better care of their pets. On weekends PetSmart has dogs there from shelters and its so nice. Also at Petco, it is usually dead and they never ask if you need help unless they are suspicious then, they ask at every isle.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE! Walk in to pick my dog up from groomer on 10/07/17 from store #1458 in Harker Heights. The very nice groomer Sarah takes my dog's leash and hands me the bill. The intent is for me to pay while she gets my dog ready for me. I get in line to pay as I have been doing for a little over a year and a half at this location. When I got inline, there were two people ahead of me and one at the register with an employee named Max. The second register that had an employee on it by the name of Katja was being counted and broken down. Max is still chatting up a storm with the same customer or buddy. My dog’s groomer is standing by the door with my 70lb boxer pulling and still no other register has been opened, and by this time there are four more customers behind me. Finally, a girl named Jessica comes to help and ring one of the two customers up that were in front of me. She is done ringing up one customer then told by Max to go to the other register that was just shut down. Then as Jessica is ringing up the second customer that was in front of me, she starts to interject in Max’s conversation with the customer or buddy. When Jessica finally gets to ring her customer up that she was not giving her undivided attention to, her register was empty. Max tells Jessica to call back to get someone else to come and help. At this point, any and all of my patience finished as I am witnessing no sense of urgency from these employees. I walk over to get my dog from the groomer so she can get the other customer's dogs ready. I mention to Max and Jessica to get their act together. Finally, Katja comes out to open the third register. Jessica still has no cash standing there, Max is still talking to his buddy and starts to get loud explaining that he has been there chatting for so long because he was making a $300-dollar sale. At this point he continues to talk to his friend about” come-on I am going to hook you up, and we do this all the time” and indirectly speaking to me that this customer 300 dollars are more valuable than any of the other customer's inline money. Katja starts to ring me up and ask how my experience was at the store and my day. Seriously, so I tell her terrible as I watch the poor customer service at the store and I would like a number to call and complain. As I am talking to Katja, Max still with the same customer tries to act tough and interrupt my conversation and mentions that he was trying to get his customer to make a purchase and his name is MAX by the way. I lost it and had to put that young condescending sorry excuse for an employee in his place. I leave to calm down because at this point I wasn’t going to tolerate any more stupidity from a poorly trained employee. When I return, I ask to speak with the manager. Katja tells me Max is the manager. So, I tell her to have him come out. She then tells me he left for the day. I ask her to bring any management that they have out. She then says well Max is the Assistant Manager, and then if he is gone she would be the manager. Really! I am sure glad that they have a headquarters. Petco, it is in your best interest to train your employees on proper ethics, customer service relations and how to move with a sense of urgency when your line is backed up before you lose any more customers. Lastly if you are going to have poorly trained employees invest in self-checkout! Your competitor Pet Smart is not that far down the street!
