We ended up terminating our contract and will be renting the house out to make up for the money we lost during this process. Very poor customer service, lack of communication, and misinformation during the whole process.
What a terrible experience. It took three months for our realtor to contact us after we put our house on the market to discuss a price drop in order to sell the house. The grass was grown up and we heard about it from a friend before he informed us.
DO NOT SELL YOUR HOUSE THROUGH THESE PEOPLE!! We are military currently in D.C., we have a house in copperas cove, TX. We had our house listed with an agent here Stephanie Nash, who never contacted us to keep up informered on our property, we could never get a hold of her. When we did get a hold of her she said she tried to contact us multiple times but there is never proof she did either by email, calls or texts. She has had our house since October now February as we pile into debt cause we can't afford mortgage in Texas and rent in D.C. We found a new Relator, made sure contract was ended with Nash. Sent the new Relator to get the key and they claim they don't have my house key, they gave it to someone else. THIS PLACE HAS POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND ARE NOT LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR BEST INTREST!!
In the last 5 years I have purchased several rental properties and my home using Hulona Millsaps as my realtor. She is amazing to work with and has always been able to accommodate my crazy schedule. I highly recommend her, I love her no pressure way of selling and she always is a pleasure to work with.
Lety Ford made my first time home buying experience pleasant and she was very accommodating. I never felt rushed or like she was just trying get the sale. She took time explaining the steps and made sure I had a clear understanding every step of the way. I would highly recommend her any day and I appreciate her hard work.
We live in a different state than the house is located, so we were depending on the realtor to keep us informed of what was going on. He failed to do so and we never knew what the status was until we called him multiple times. After receiving an offer on the house, we were going to loose about $7,000. When the appraisal came back, the house was appraised $3,000 less than the offer we agreed upon. This was AFTER we replaced the roof and did the required repairs that the buyer was asking for. After that, we were going to owe $10,000! What's worse is he told us we couldn't get a copy of the appraisal, which is total B.S. I had the feeling that the appraiser was well known by the buyer and the house was intentionally appraised low in order to get a better deal. the whole thing smelled like a scam to me.
This was a VA transaction so the appraisal was the be all end all for the price of the house, it made no difference what we agreed upon in the contract. All the other homes in the area were being sold for $7,000 to $10,000 more than our house appraised for.
I have been purchasing through this company since 2001, and will continue to give them my business.
They're a bunch of damn thieves. We lived in one of their properties for over two years. Rotten siding and leaky roof aside, the experience was tolerable. Upon leaving, we received an invoice from them for the replacement of a refrigerator. There was no refrigerator in the house when we moved in. The signed lease inventory clearly stated "N/A" on the space where we were to list the condition of this unicorn-level-non-existent refrigerator. When this was pointed out, their representative told us that this could simply mean that there were no problems with it, the Loch Ness Monster of appliances. We disputed the charges, and their level of concern was on par with the space occupied by the refrigerator when we moved into the house. They reported the charges for this transparent, very warm ice-box to our credit. We disputed that as well, and promptly forgot about it. Then, through a very screwed up series of circumstances involving a rule about credit disputes and the home equity lending process, I've been left with no alternative but to pay $1,200.00 for nothing to get this crap off my otherwise stellar credit. My hatred of this company, if not readily apparent, burns with the heat of a thousand white-hot suns. Take pictures of the house before you rent. Try to photograph everything that's not there (be sure to use your imagination), or you may find yourself billed for the replacement of an in-ground pool that you foolishly marked not applicable.
